About this role:
Maintain Aldar Groups sustainability strategies including annual targets and operational initiatives, in line with Aldar Groups direction.
Manage the implementation of the company’s sustainability strategies, and develop regular performance reports to different internal and external stakeholder groups, identifying performance gaps and recommending performance enhancement initiatives.
Manage the company’s ESG data in line with leading practices to ensure complete and accurate reporting, and work on improving the ESG data management processes, in line with Aldar Groups direction.
Ensure clear and consistent sustainability communications internally and externally.
Lead the enhancement of sustainability governance throughout the company and in line with Aldar Groups direction. This involves refining processes, policies, and procedures to integrate sustainability and net-zero principles into all departments.
Promote collaboration and cultivate a sustainability-driven culture company-wide.
Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives that raise awareness of sustainability and net zero strategies and goals and encourage behavior changes that contribute to the company’s sustainability objectives.
Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation in sustainability initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
Manage the assessment and mitigation of sustainability-related risks by developing robust strategies to address issues such as supply chain disruptions, regulatory changes, and reputation management.
Coordinate with the Internal Audit team for assessments and implement their recommendations.
Ensure the monitoring of compliance levels to relevant laws, regulations, and standards related to the function.
Identify the appropriate sustainability certifications the company should pursue, and ensure those certifications are attained at the most advantageous cost possible. Initiate and manage corrective actions as needed.
Develop and Implement Sustainability Strategies:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and implement comprehensive sustainability strategies aligned with the organization’s goals and values.
Identify and assess environmental impact areas, including energy consumption, waste management, and supply chain activities.
Evaluate and recommend technologies, processes, and practices to achieve carbon neutrality goals.
Regulatory Compliance:
Stay abreast of local and international environmental regulations related to sustainability.
Ensure the organization’s compliance with relevant laws and standards, and proactively address emerging regulatory requirements.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Collect, analyze, and report key sustainability metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
Prepare and present reports to internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership and regulatory bodies.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and community partners, to foster sustainability initiatives and build strategic alliances.
Communicate sustainability efforts effectively to enhance the organization’s reputation and brand image.
Innovation and Research:
Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in sustainability.
Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in sustainable practices.
Employee Education and Engagement:
Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on sustainable practices and importance.
Foster a culture of sustainability within the organization.
Qualification:
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.
