As the Outdoor Education Lead, the successful candidate will design and implement a robust, cross-curricular outdoor learning programme aligned with the English National Curriculum and Arbor's ecoliteracy principles. They will work closely with the Assistant Head of Teaching & Learning and Environmental Inquiry, as well as subject teachers, to embed outdoor learning across subjects, lead nature-based fieldwork, ensure health and safety compliance, and cultivate a strong ethos of environmental stewardship.
In addition, the role will involve developing risk assessments for all outdoor activities and supporting the implementation of whole-school eco-initiatives that promote sustainability within both the school and the wider community. The Outdoor Education Lead will also play a key role in integrating the use of the school’s unique biodomes, gardens, and outdoor spaces into everyday teaching and learning.

REQUIRED CANDIDATE PROFILE:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Environmental Studies, Outdoor Education, or a directly related subject.
- Professional teaching qualification such as a PGCE with QTS (or equivalent).
- 2 years or more experience in teaching or outdoor education, with a strong focus on environmental learning, experiential education, and sustainability.
- Proven ability to deliver outstanding learning experiences that are inquiry-based, hands-on, and student-centered.
- A track record of contributing to cross-curricular or whole-school initiatives that promote environmental stewardship and ecoliteracy.
- Outdoor Education, First Aid, or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.
