Principal Corporate & Site Communications Specialist
We are seeking a strategic Internal and Site Communications professional to support internal and external communications efforts in Penang, Malaysia. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, skilled project manager, and proactive communicator who can navigate site communications and local public relations activities simultaneously. This role is instrumental in driving employee engagement, enhancing external reputation, and ensuring business strategy and site contributions are understood, recognized and valued.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Develop and Implement Internal Communication Strategies: Partner with site leadership and local HR teams to design and execute comprehensive communication plans to support organizational priorities, drive employee engagement, and enhance company culture. The ideal candidate will create compelling and clear content for internal communication channels, including executive updates and organizational announcements.
- Employee Engagement & Change Management Campaigns: Partner with site leadership and our Culture & Connections team to lead campaigns and initiatives that keep employees informed, motivated, connected, and able to adapt to ongoing change. This includes town halls, employee spotlights, and manager-specific communication initiatives. Additionally, the candidate should help ensure corporate-level updates are broadly applicable and understood by team members at the site.
- Event Management: Organize and execute internal events, including leadership meetings, employee recognition events, and site-wide town halls, in partnership with our Culture & Connections team.
- Serve as Public Relations Lead: Act as the point of contact for site-specific communication needs, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and local engagement priorities. In this role, the candidate will:
- Develop and nurture relationships with local media and relevant stakeholders to promote and manage organizational reputation.
- Assist in managing media inquiries, press releases, and crisis communications related to site-specific matters. Support public relations efforts, such as coordinating interviews and media visits.
- Create content for external channels including crafting and distributing press releases, fact sheets, and social media content that reflect site activities and achievements.

- Experience working cross-functionally with HR, Legal, Operations, Manufacturing, and other teams to ensure message alignment and consistency.
- The ability to track and report on the effectiveness of communication strategies and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.

Malaysian citizenship, Permanent Residency, or ability to secure the appropriate work permit is required to work in this position at NI Penang.
