DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe Consulting Systems Engineer for Data delivers exceptional value using a consultative approach to solution design, implementation, and optimisation that precisely meets the customer's business and technical needs. In guiding and delivering Professional Services engagements with expert knowledge, clear documentation, and a creative approach to problem solving, the Consulting Systems Engineer ensures that we achieve the desired outcome. The vendor and industry accredited professional provides expertise in storage and data protection technologies to ensure that our solutions are efficient, scalable, reliable, and secure.
As the Consulting Systems Engineer, you will:- Presales Support:
- Work closely with the sales and partner teams to understand customer requirements,
- Create technical solutions and define Bill of Materials (BoM),
- Provide technical presentations and product demonstrations to customers and prospects,
- Develop customized solutions based on client specifications, business objectives, and product capabilities,
- Assist in the preparation of proposals, quotes, and technical documentation,
- Support the preparation of technical responses to requests for proposals (RFPs) and requests for information (RFIs), ensuring the alignment of our solutions to customer specifications,
- Respond to customer inquiries and provide clear technical explanations regarding product features and benefits.
- Solution Delivery and Support:
- Collaborate with customers to understand their technical and business challenges, designing tailored solutions that align with their goals while showcasing the power of the vendor's solutions,
- Define migration and implementation plans, Scopes of Work (SoW) and engineering standards to ensure successful product installation, integration, and configuration,
- Lead the design, setup, and management of Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and pilots to demonstrate the functionality and benefits of vendor products in real-world environments,
- Technical escalation when required to troubleshoot complex issues with storage systems, including hardware, software, and network connectivity problems, and provide efficient solutions to problem determination.
- Product Expertise:
- Staying up to date with industry trends, market developments, and emerging technologies to give Exclusive Networks competitive advantage,
- Provide expert-level support and guidance on storage and data security technologies, including but not limited to solutions based on NetApp, Druva, and Rubrik.
- Skills Development and Knowledge Transfer:
- Developing and implementing training and enablement plans to broaden Presales, Professional Services, Technical Support, and Training Services to increase capacity and capability on Palo Alto Networks vendor products,
- Conduct internal training and product awareness sessions for the sales team on product features, functionality, and use cases,
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for technical questions and provide guidance to colleagues as needed.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Working closely with internal teams including Vendor, Marketing, Presales, Services, and Operations, to ensure alignment and support for channel activities,
- Communicating effectively with partners to address issues, provide feedback, and share best practices,
- Attending Exclusive Networks & vendor events.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCEThe ideal Sales Consulting Engineer:- Strong hands-on experience with data storage vendors such as NetApp,
- At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience working with NetApp storage solutions (ONTAP, AFF, Cloud Volumes, etc.),
- Strong knowledge of data storage technologies and cloud storage architectures,
- Experience with storage area networks (SAN), network-attached storage (NAS), and data replication along with a working understanding of storage protocols like NFS, CIFS, iSCSI, and FC,
- Proven experience with troubleshooting and supporting complex storage environments,
- A passion for helping existing and potential partners,
- Willingness to travel to customer, partners, attend conferences, trade shows, and other events.
