Our client, a comprehensive freight forwarding and cargo handling service, offering International logistics solutions from time sensitive Air Freight and Worldwide Sea Freight to European Express transport and warehousing, are looking to recruit a Transport and Warehouse Coordinator, to be based at offices in Selby, North Yorkshire.

Established for around 80 years with the specific aim of providing a comprehensive cargo handling and freight forwarding service. The company offices and warehouse facility are strategically located to facilitate a range of services for cargo arriving by both road and sea. With a 40,000 square feet warehouse and a team of experienced warehouse staff, the company has developed a flexible approach to handling bulk, powder, liquid, and conventional palletised and loose cargo and offered a storage, stock control, and nationwide distribution service.

Main Purpose of the Role:

Reporting to the Director, the Transport & Warehouse Coordinator will assist in the coordination of UK transport, raising appropriate documentation, booking collections and deliveries, and negotiating with suppliers. When required, assist in the warehouse.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Transport & Warehouse Coordinator:

• Working as part of a team, the successful candidate will coordinate the UK distribution and warehousing activities.
• Managing the booking in of stock on behalf of UK and European client base, and coordinating the stock control and storage services.
• Arranging the UK distribution with a wide variety of valued suppliers from small samples, single pallets up to full loads.
• Communicating professionally at all times with the client base and ensuring excellent customer service.
• Liaising verbally with clients and suppliers.
• Booking in stock and coordinating storage services.
• Coordinating ancillary services including bagging, picking, packing, and labelling.
• Arranging collections and deliveries of UK transport.
• Raising appropriate paperwork and administration.
• Generating & calculating freight quotations.
• Helping in the warehouse where required.
