Job Role: Learning Support Assistant

Location: Southend-on-Sea

Salary: NJC Point 6 - £25,183 PA; £19,118.28 pro rata

Hours: Full-time, term-time only

Contract: Permanent

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our client, a thriving Academy in Southend-on-Sea. The successful candidate will provide essential support to students with additional learning needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential. This role is perfect for someone passionate about education and eager to make a real difference in students’ lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students in the classroom, ensuring they have access to the curriculum.
  • Work closely with teachers to deliver tailored support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and additional learning needs.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group interventions to support academic and social development.
  • Assist with behaviour management and promote positive learning attitudes.
  • Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Encourage and develop students’ confidence, independence, and engagement in learning.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Support students with personal care needs where necessary.
