We're looking for a Construction & Engineering Director to join our project team based in London.

Location: Central London, Foley Street

What will you be responsible for?

The regional businesses provide a client focused service that delivers quality construction projects in a safe, professional, and sustainable manner utilising extensive experience of working with both public and private sector clients on projects where a full range of complexities can be encountered including challenging logistics & access, complex façades (inc façade retention), noise restrictions, complex ground conditions, contamination, and technically challenging building services. Project values are likely to range from £1m to £150m (depending on the region) so possessing the agility to respond to specific demands and shifting priorities is essential.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the role will provide functional leadership within the region and oversee the implementation and adherence to business systems, functional strategies and be the focal point for driving consistency, standards and improvement in how Kier deliver projects. Regional revenues are typically £200-400m per annum with up to 40 projects live at any one time.

Your day to day will include:

1. Provide functional (and where appropriate/requested operational) leadership for the regional business with key focus on improving operational performance, consistency and standards.
2. Responsible for the HSW, Environmental and quality resources within the region.
3. Be responsible for assembling plans and objectives for delivering Quality.
4. Be responsible for driving the ‘digital by default' agenda and operational performance through digital dashboard reviews; weekly performance of projects with live trackers; working closely with the Regional Directors to optimise the operational performance and mitigate risk across the portfolio of projects. This includes furthering the uptake and driving consistency of Asite, Biosite, Novade, Procore plus Power BI across the portfolio of projects.
5. Drive focus and develop opportunities to enhance our delivery and customer offering, by exploring industry best practice, sustainable modern methods of construction and digital enhancements. Feedback same to the wider Construction & Engineering function.

• Experience providing functional leadership for planning, building services, design management, social value, digital construction, information management and engineering
• Experience working for a Tier 1 contractor in an established leadership role
• Core people management and leadership skills
• Forward thinking commercial acumen
