Are you dynamic and want to make a difference in how we deliver public services?

If so, this is a fantastic opportunity for an individual to join our experienced, motivated and passionate team. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will provide, organise and deliver Sensory Training, develop content in British Sign Language (BSL) for social media, engage with communities, staff and other key professionals to understand and address the needs of local communities regarding sensory impairments.

You will have experience working in sensory environments, engaging with communities, and delivering training. You will also have experience leading community group work in line with the See Hear Strategy and the BSL (Scotland) Act, as well as coordinating outreach and engagement activities. Strong communication skills, a flexible and positive attitude, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential. The ability to manage your own workload and use initiative is also required.

Requirements

  1. You will be required to hold SQA British Sign Language SCQF Level 7 or above and Internal Verification of Workplace Assessments SCQF Level 8 or above.
  2. You will also have a positive 'can do' attitude, the drive to 'make it happen' in a busy working environment delivering high-quality support across a diverse range of services.
  3. You will have sound communication, planning, and organisation skills, and must be able to work to deadlines, ensuring an excellent service to both internal and external key professionals and stakeholders.
  4. You will have knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office and data protection legislation requirements with highly developed I.T. skills.
  5. You will work 22.5 hours per week.
  6. This post is temporary until April 2027 due to service requirement.
  7. If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to carry out a Disclosure Scotland check.
