My client is currently recruiting for a new Assistant Financial Accountant based in Leatherhead.

Description

1. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
2. Support the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
3. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
4. Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and other tax filings.
5. Help with the maintenance of the general ledger and ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately.
6. Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate and timely payments and receipts.
7. Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation for month-end close.
8. Assist in preparing financial reports and analysis for management.
9. Help with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
10. Assist in audits by providing relevant financial data and documentation.
11. Support the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records and improving internal processes.
12. Assist with ad-hoc financial projects and reporting as required.

Profile

1. May be studying towards an Accountancy qualification.
2. Some prior experience (1-2 years) in an accounting or finance role is preferred but not essential.
3. A keen interest in accounting with a desire to learn and develop professionally.
4. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
6. Good organizational and time management skills.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Strong communication skills and ability to work with non-financial stakeholders.
9. A proactive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges.

Job Offer

Assistant Financial Accountant - Salary: 25,000 - 30,000
