Network Domain Architect - Shape the Future of Secure Networks

Location: Hybrid - 1 day per month in Barrow-in-Furness (Client site)
Sector: Government / Defence
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Up to £110,000 + 5% bonus

The Opportunity

Are you a seasoned Network Architect with a passion for designing and leading secure, high-performance network solutions? This is your chance to step into a key strategic role, driving innovation and excellence within a cutting-edge defence project.

We're looking for a Network Domain Architect to take ownership of technical strategy, design integrity, and stakeholder engagement within a leading Managed Services organisation. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you'll influence major projects and guide the future of network architecture in a rapidly evolving landscape.

Your Role

1. Lead the Network Strategy - Define, develop, and oversee the network architecture, ensuring solutions meet business and security needs.
2. Act as the Design Authority - Own the technical vision, ensuring consistency, scalability, and best-in-class design principles.
3. Engage with Stakeholders - Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external partners to shape and drive network solutions.
4. Champion Innovation - Stay ahead of emerging technologies and lead the evolution of network services.
5. Mentor & Guide - Provide technical leadership and support to engineers and architects across the business.

What You'll Need

1. Proven Expertise - Experience as a Network Domain Architect within a Managed Services environment.
2. Strategic Mindset - Ability to operate as a Design Authority, overseeing large-scale network projects, transitions, and bids.
3. Deep Technical Knowledge in:
1. Cisco ACI (Multi-site & Multi-pod)
2. Firewalls (Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Cisco Firepower, Cisco ASA & AnyConnect)
3. Enterprise Wi-Fi (Cisco WLC or equivalent)
4. Networking Protocols (IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
4. Security Clearance - Must be eligible for SC clearance (UK for the last 5 years required).
5. Strong Stakeholder Skills - Ability to influence, build trust, and communicate technical concepts effectively.
