Role Overview:

As the HR Manager, reporting to the Group HR Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and implementing HR policies, ensuring the development and well-being of our staff, and supporting the educational mission of the institution. You will provide expert HR advice, lead recruitment processes, drive employee engagement initiatives, and ensure compliance with all relevant employment legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Management of a small HR team.
2. Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process for academic and non-academic staff, ensuring the attraction of high-quality candidates.
3. Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the organization's educational goals and values.
4. Provide guidance and support to leadership and staff on HR issues, including performance management, conflict resolution, and employee development.
5. Administer employee benefits, policies, and procedures, ensuring adherence to legal and organizational standards.
6. Implement training and development programs to support staff growth and retention.
7. Monitor employee performance, manage appraisals, and provide coaching to managers to support staff development.
8. Support organizational change, ensuring HR processes are aligned with any new strategies or initiatives.
9. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment law and industry best practices, ensuring legal compliance.
10. Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that prioritizes well-being, motivation, and professional growth.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

1. A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. CIPD qualification level 5 is a must or level 7 would be highly desirable.
3. Proven experience (3+ years) in HR management, ideally within the education sector (however this is not essential).
4. Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment law, and employee relations.
5. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work under pressure and handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.
7. A proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving.
8. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

1. Experience working in a diverse and inclusive environment.
2. Knowledge of HR software and systems.
