ART DIRECTOR

The Art Director is responsible to aid in training of art staff, development and oversight of art program, help encourage, support, participants and staff concerning art program. Incorporate art therapy into rotations to help students express their thoughts and feelings through fine art mediums. Create an environment for students to learn practical fine art skills, process through creating, and use their imaginations.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Develop and implement a complete Arts Program (including theme-based, meaningful projects)
• Create a free and safe space for children to create and be successful
• Teach participants between the ages of 8 and 12 to new techniques as well as an appreciation of art
• Organize and maintain creative arts facility and equipment including complete safety checks
• Train and supervise all instructors
• Maintain art equipment and inspection of the premises and equipment
• Provide free time activities for participants interested in fine art
• Prepare art building and supplies for each week’s programming
• Complete a post-summer written report with detailed description of inventory, purchase recommendations, replacement needs

ART INSTRUCTOR

The Art Instructor is responsible to aid in implementation and oversight of art program, help encourage, support, participants and staff concerning art program, work side by side with the Art Director to help plan art program activities and ensure successful implementation of programmed activities.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Create a free and safe space for children to create and be successful
• Assist in teaching participants between the ages of 8 and 12 to new techniques as well as an appreciation of art
• Organize and maintain creative arts facility and equipment including complete safety checks
• Maintain art equipment and inspection of the premises and equipment
• Provide free time activities for participants interested in art
• Prepare art building and supplies for each week’s programming
