N-able is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior UX Manager, Design and Research to join our dynamic team to transform how people manage their Managed service providers (MSP) business. This role is pivotal in shaping the user experience of our N-able products, ensuring they are intuitive, efficient, and user-friendly.
As a Senior UX Manager Design and Research at N-able, you will lead a team of talented UX designers and researchers across multiple product groups, driving alignment and working towards common goals. You will drive our UX principles, improve our product experience, help develop our UX strategy, actively be involved in generating designs, provide guidance and support, manage operational health, and drive improvements in team processes.
What You'll Do- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with product management and engineering teams across product groups to integrate UX design and research into the product development process.
- Managing several cross-product UX projects simultaneously with cross-functional teams, ensuring consistency and quality across all initiatives. Often collaborating with the Head of Product and Head of Engineering of product groups to ensure alignment with overall business goals.
- Advocate for user-centered design principles and best practices within the organization.
- Present UX strategies, design concepts, solutions, and project updates to senior executives and advocating for UX resources.
- Act as the point of contact for UX requirements and disseminate to the team. Work with PM to prioritize work for product group UX projects.
- Manage the product group UX sprints & Jira board, assigning projects and tasks where needed.
- Innovation & Improvement:
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UX design & research.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve the user experience and drive innovation in products.
- Lead initiatives to enhance the overall UX culture within N-able.
- Establish and monitor usability KPIs (our product experience score), driving enhancements through user feedback and rigorous testing. Measure the impact of UX initiatives on user satisfaction and business outcomes.
- Take a proactive approach and ownership in leading, to build an inclusive creative culture and drive cross-team initiatives.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by regularly reviewing and refining UX processes in alignment with agile principles and a continuous discovery mindset.
- Communication & Advocacy:
- Raise the profile of UX across the business by establishing, scaling, and championing user-centered design methodologies and ways of working.
- Play an active role in developing UX thinking and understanding across the business, collaborating cross-functionally to ensure alignment with overall business goals.
- UX reporting, evangelizing, demoing experiences, and presenting to the executive team.
- Advocate for accessibility and inclusive design principles, ensuring all products meet or exceed accessibility standards.
What You'll Bring- Experience & Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in UX design, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role within a B2B SaaS environment.
- Proven track record of designing and delivering successful UX solutions for complex software B2B SaaS products.
- Knowledge of security tools and SaaS products is a plus.
- Leadership & Management:
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams, across business units, by driving toward shared goals/outcomes and influence outcomes by aligning teams toward a common vision.
- Has a track record of managing researchers and designers – from fostering growth and talent to recruitment, retention, and performance management.
- Comfortable presenting to large, diverse audiences including C-Suite executives.
- Have managed budgets and third-party vendors.
- User Experience Expertise:
- Strong portfolio of work demonstrating excellence in digital product design/research, a solid execution of user-centric design processes and leadership capabilities.
- Highly creative, inspiring, and engaging with a track record of shipping high-quality product experiences.
- Comprehensive design background with deep expertise in visual design and interaction design.
- Experience with user research methodologies and usability testing.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Miro, Qualtrics, Figma, Jira, Salesforce, Pendo or similar.
- Comfortable being more hands-on as a designer or researcher from time to time.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Excellent communication, presentation, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build compelling narratives told in a succinct way.
- Continuously demonstrate the value of design through business and customer metrics and results.
- Advocate for user-centered design principles and best practices within the organization.
- Innovation & Improvement:
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UX design & research.
