The incumbent will provide legal counsel for University Advancement activities, negotiate agreements, and ensure compliance with legal standards. Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree, 8 years of experience, and be bilingual in English and French. Reporting to the General Counsel and Director of Legal Services and with administrative reporting link to the Executive Director, Advancement Operations, the incumbent is responsible for providing legal advice to University Advancement staff, University officials, faculties as well as interacting with benefactors and their legal and financial advisors in contractual matters including the various legal and financial implications when major gifts, bequests and planned gifts and/or gifts‑in‑kind are being solicited, cultivated, and negotiated. The incumbent is also vested with the interpretation of the privacy law in reference to the various activities of the Unit.
