Introduction
A Senior Presales Consultant role (what we internally call a 'Brand Technical Specialist') within the webMethods/StreamSets business at IBM means accelerating enterprises’ success in delivering data to their platforms of choice to enable smarter decisions, powered by advanced analytics and AI.
In this role you will be responsible for actively driving and managing all technical aspects of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and advocate for our products. You will join a dynamic team with responsibility for the EMEA market and you will focus on the MET region.
In this senior role, you will also be responsible for establishing and nurturing relationships with our technology partners and providing advocacy and thought leadership through your engagements with prospects, partners and market.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Brand Sales Specialist you'll work closely with clients to develop relationships, understand their needs, earn their trust and show them how IBM's industry leading solutions will solve their problems whilst delivering value to their business.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Maintain Client Relationships and Showcase IBM's Tech Value: Actively maintain and nurture client relationships while effectively highlighting the value of IBM's technology solutions.
Utilize Solution-Selling Skills: Apply solution-selling techniques to engage with decision-makers, assess and qualify opportunities, and establish enduring partnerships.
Oversee the Full Sales Process: Take charge of the entire sales process, from handling RFI/RFP responses to showcasing the solutions through demonstrations and Proof of Concepts.
Collaborate with IBM's Sales Network: Work in cooperation with IBM's sales ecosystem to develop and execute sales campaigns, ultimately leading to the growth of the sales pipeline.

You have minimum 5 years’ experience in Pre-Sales or Consulting roles, with the last 2 years in Senior or Principal positions - your experience enables you to establish strong trusted advisor relationships with senior technology and business contacts who see you as a peer and domain expert.
You’re able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users both at Operational and Executive levels within our customers and prospects.
You’re able to identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to ensure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process.
Drawing from your deep experience you can point out pitfalls and provide insight to customers building a trusted advisor relationship with them.
You have deep experience across a range of relevant technology domains, including:
Data Integration and Data Analytics space
Big Data architectures and Streaming Architectures.
Cloud Architectures and Cloud Infrastructures

You have great communication skills - both oral and written and are able to tune your communication register to fit the audience and situation, which include presenting to C-Level, Conferences as well as internal stakeholders (senior managers, developers, peers, etc.)

Preferred technical and professional experience
10+ years proven track record in pre-sales
Data industry experience, with a focus on ETL, BI, analytics applications, big data and streaming applications.
Linux experience as well as exposure to programming languages, such as Java, Perl, Python, and Unix Shell scripts; familiarity with containerized infrastructure (docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with big data and cloud technologies (Hadoop, Spark, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Snowflake, Databricks)
