Wood is recruiting for a Logistics Coordinator to join its UAE Business Unit to carry out all activity per Wood Supply Chain Code of Conduct, ensuring all statutory and legal requirements and applicable processes and procedures are complied with and all documents are filed accurately and fully auditable.
This is a full-time onsite role in Dubai, UAE.
The role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Logistics Coordinator to join our UAE Business Unit.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the procurement of allocated commodities of the required quality at lowest cost consistent with material requisitions, departmental and project requirements and at correct delivery point within scheduled time limits
- Responsible for coordinating all aspects of supply chain activities as determined by project strategy, processes and procedures
- Ensure personnel carry out purchasing activities have a clear understanding of processes and procedures
- Manage and monitor the more challenging and complex packages and/or suppliers
- Provide pre-order management that facilitates "on time" issue of awards
- Update Procurement Status report from receipt of material requisition till the issue and acknowledgement of Purchase Order
- Assist SCM in preparation of Vendor list
- Develop contacts with Suppliers' personnel
- Maintain the respect of Suppliers and their representatives by adherence to code of conduct and business ethics, corporate policies, procedures and work practices
- Maintain awareness of the materials supply situation including area sources, price levels and current deliveries. Advise the Supply Chain Manager and/or Manager, Purchasing of possible new sources of supply
- When requested contribute to current and projected price and delivery trends
- When requested carry out spare parts co-ordination activities in accordance with the Project Procurement Execution Plan
- Prepare and issue Strategy Paper and obtain necessary approvals
- Prepare and issue request for quotation, progress, check and evaluate quotations
- Liaise between engineering and supplier for closure of technical queries
- Prepare commercial bid tabulation and order variations and make recommendations
- Ensure recommended Supplier's final price on commercial bid tabulation is under budget and delivery is within required on site dates
- Arrange and attend pre-order meetings with Suppliers to confirm that all technical and commercial requirements will be met
- Issue notes of meetings in accordance with project distribution matrix
- Submit Commercial Bid evaluation and recommendation for award after technical approval for client approval
- Prepare and issue purchase orders as per the approved recommendation
- Facilitate certification of Supplier's Invoice as per the agreed milestone payment terms including settlement of back charges, discrepancies and final close out of Purchase Order

Expected:
- Degree or Diploma in an Engineering discipline
- Minimum of 10 years experience in the Oil and Gas industries
- Good project purchasing experience in the Middle East region
- Direct purchasing on a global basis
- Supervisory experience within project teams
- Proven ability to prepare negotiation strategies/techniques and lead negotiations
- Very good knowledge of project procurement execution (from cradle to grave)
- Detailed Knowledge of Supply Chain Pre and Post Order Practices
- Strong Team Player with Excellent Communication Skills
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
