Social Creative Director - Job Description
Mullenlowe has some of the most interesting clients who need to tell their stories to the social world. Come help us tell them! We're looking for a Social Creative Director to help us take our social content to the next level. Working with an in-house team of conceptualisers, designers, content creators, copywriters, and production teams, the Social Creative Director will be responsible for developing industry-leading social-first creative across all social platforms. This role is a player-coach position, where the ideal candidate will be able to take things from concept to final delivery, maintaining a high level of conceptual thinking while also being able to finesse the details.
Responsibilities for Creative Director
- Taking responsibility and ownership for the creative social philosophy and the standard of output across the agency from a social and digital perspective.
- Own and drive the creative direction for all social content ensuring platform-agnostic content format innovations. Manage projects at major stages of their conception, creation, and execution.
- Utilise your extensive social landscape knowledge combined with client/brand awareness to develop creative social ideation and conceptual creativity, not just individual social posts.
- Mentor and encourage creative team members to foster a collaborative and creative work environment with social adoption at the heart of all ideas.
- Contribute hands-on by creating high-quality social-first content, staying updated with the latest industry trends and best practices across all existing and emerging platforms from both a technical and creative perspective.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Participate in and provide regular opportunities for professional development and growth to team members.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging platforms, and new technologies to drive innovation in social media content.
- Drive better quality content on the ground by working with content creators, videographers, and animators to improve technical standards, post-production techniques, and increase knowledge and competency of software development, such as After Effects and Adobe Premiere.
Qualifications
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a Creative Director or in a similar creative leadership role, with a focus on social media content and campaigns.
- Strong portfolio showcasing creative campaigns, content, and strategies.
- Strategic thinker with a deep understanding of social media trends and best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of how to develop brand content through social-first marketing.
- Good comfort level interacting with clients and industry professionals.
- Evidence of participation in ongoing professional development opportunities in the areas of content and social media.
- Hands-on experience with building social campaigns and content.
