Job summary

A reputable construction company is seeking an experienced Construction Storeman to manage site stores on an active construction project in Durbanville. The ideal candidate must have a Matric, Trade Certificate, and at least 5 years' experience as a Store Clerk. Responsibilities include inventory management, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with safety requirements. This position is crucial for maintaining effective stock control and supporting the construction process. Immediate start preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Store Clerk / Construction Storeman.
  • Proven experience working on construction sites.
  • Experience on large or fast-paced construction projects is advantageous.

Construction Storeman

POSITION INFO

A reputable construction company is seeking an experienced Construction Storeman to manage and control site stores on an active construction project in the Durbanville / Phisantekraal area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Full management of construction site stores
  • Receiving, issuing and recording of materials and tools
  • Maintaining accurate stock control and inventory records
  • Conducting regular stock counts and reconciling variances
  • Ensuring proper storage, security and housekeeping of materials
  • Liaising with site management, suppliers and subcontractors
  • Ensuring compliance with company procedures and site safety requirements
Minimum Requirements
  • Matric (Grade 12) – compulsory
  • Trade Certificate or RPL – essential
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Store Clerk / Construction Storeman
  • Proven experience working on construction sites
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail
Advantageous
  • Experience on large or fast-paced construction projects
  • Knowledge of construction materials, tools and equipment
