You will support a range of clients, including the industry's most successful pharmaceutical and medical technology companies, patient and public health bodies and charitable organisations.

The Medical Writer and Analyst positions are ideal for those with experience in scientific research and for enthusiastic recent graduates in the sciences who are seeking the opportunity to be part of a growing team. You will be based in our Singapore office working in our Asia-Pacific team, as well as collaborating with colleagues from our UK and US teams.

Medical Writers and Analysts work on projects involving the detailed analysis of data from clinical trials and the assimilation and creative presentation of this analysis in different formats including posters, slide sets, value dossiers, reports and peer‑reviewed publications. These deliverables are used directly by our clients in communication with external stakeholders instrumental to the successful uptake of novel therapies. The work is structured on a project‑by‑project basis and you will usually be working on several projects in different disease areas at any one time.

You will work in project teams alongside experienced colleagues in both the Singapore, UK and US offices who provide one‑to‑one training in the technical aspects of the role, including project management and effective client communication. Delivering project work requires close collaboration with clients and, following a successful induction period, you will increasingly engage in teleconferences and face‑to‑face meetings with external stakeholders.

Positions are available for those looking for an entry‑level role as well as those with some prior experience. We are looking for ambitious individuals with the potential to progress rapidly into more senior roles involving greater project management and client responsibility.

Costello Medical is structured into teams focusing on distinct services within the healthcare industry. Our Singapore office is structured around three teams who focus on Medical Communications, Evidence Development, and Market Access. Please note that this vacancy is specifically within our Medical Communications team, with the possibility of contributing to cross‑divisional projects.

• Medical Communications: Medical communications provide the scientific bridge between clinical development and commercial functions in pharmaceutical and device companies. Most activities have a strong patient and/or healthcare professional (HCP) focus, and act to educate and inform clinical decision making and patient care, or to gather insights that inform a product's clinical development. These projects require the ability to work closely with clients and prominent HCPs to deliver high quality writing that is scientifically rigorous, patient focused, and in line with the strategic positioning of the pharmaceutical or medical devices products. Working in medical communications at Costello Medical requires excellent project management skills, constant dedication to customer service and the development of strong relationships with clients, academics, and HCPs in the APAC region and globally.
• Market Access: Market access supports timely patient access to drugs and devices, involving the assessment of clinical efficacy and safety alongside costs to determine the value of a therapy within a specific disease area. Market access activities are targeted at a wide range of stakeholders who are instrumental to the successful funding and uptake of novel therapies, such as government bodies, payers, health technology appraisal (HTA) agencies, HCPs, and patients. Our Market Access team supports a wide range of clients in producing materials that demonstrate the clinical and economic value of new therapies. Analysts in this team develop product value messages and materials, build health economic models, and prepare dossiers for HTA submission. This role suits those who are passionate about patient access to healthcare, are fast‑learners, and have a strategic, problem‑solving mindset. Exceptional writing skills are essential, especially the ability to summarise complex data clearly and creatively with high levels of attention to detail.
• Evidence Development: Evidence‑based medicine is the cornerstone of medical decision‑making. The Evidence Development team conducts literature reviews, synthesises data, and generates real‑world evidence. Projects include systematic reviews, meta‑analyses, and real‑world studies; analysts collaborate with statisticians, epidemiologists, clients and external experts to design protocols, analyse data, and report findings. These works inform strategic decisions for clinical development and market access. Analysts in this team have excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and excellent communication ability.

• A degree level or higher qualification in a scientific discipline (minimum CAP or GPA 4/5 or equivalent). We welcome applications from candidates with a diverse range of specialisms, including but not limited to biology, chemistry, pharmacy and medicine.
• An excellent written and spoken fluency in English in order to deliver high quality scientific materials in English for clients in the Asia‑Pacific region.
• An ability to communicate scientific materials clearly in both written and oral form.

• A close attention to detail.
• An aptitude for and experience of scientific writing which could include dissertations, research summaries, lab reports, poster or oral presentations, peer‑reviewed scientific publications, book chapters, grant applications, regulatory documents, and articles for websites or student magazines.
• A competency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• An exceptional level of organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage your time and meet deadlines.

No previous experience in this sector is necessary, but you should display a genuine interest in healthcare and an eagerness to learn about new areas of clinical science. Applicants with higher‑level qualifications in a scientific discipline are welcomed but this is not a requirement.

• A starting salary of S$4,500 per month. This increases to S$4,700 for successful candidates who hold a master's qualification and S$5,000 for those with a PhD.
