Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize latex formulations to meet specific product requirements.
- Experiment with raw materials, additives, and processing techniques to improve product performance (e.g., elasticity, durability, chemical resistance).
- Conduct research to innovate new latex-based products or improve existing ones.
- Perform routine testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure they meet industry standards and specifications.
- Monitor and analyze product properties such as viscosity, pH, density, tensile strength, and curing characteristics.
- Troubleshoot and resolve quality issues related to raw materials, production processes, or final products.
- Work closely with production teams to optimize manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency and consistency.
- Identify and implement improvements to reduce waste, lower costs, and enhance product quality.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations during production.
- Ensure that all products and processes comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO13485) and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA).
- Maintain documentation and records for audits and certifications.
- Stay updated on advancements in latex technology, raw materials, and manufacturing techniques.
- Conduct experiments to explore new applications or improve existing latex products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring new products to market.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues related to raw materials, production processes, or product performance.
- Analyse production data to identify trends and potential areas for improvement.
- Ensure that all chemical processes and materials used are handled safely and in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Develop and implement safety protocols for handling hazardous materials.
- Work closely with other departments, such as production, engineering, and marketing, to ensure smooth operations and product development.
- Provide technical support and training to production staff as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of experiments, test results, and production data.
- Prepare reports and presentations for management, clients, or regulatory bodies.
- Address technical inquiries from customers regarding product specifications, performance, or applications.
- Provide solutions to customer complaints or issues related to product quality.
Requirements and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related field.
- Knowledge of ISO13485 and FDA requirements and lean practice in manufacturing for Medical Devices.
- Prefer at least 2-3 years of relevant latex manufacturing experience.
- Strong knowledge of polymer chemistry, latex technology, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and analytical instruments.
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
