As we expand our research and development capabilities, we are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Bioengineering Executive to join our growing team.

The Bioengineering Executive will play a critical role in optimizing and scaling up mycoprotein fermentation processes. This role requires expertise in microbial fermentation, bioprocess optimization, and downstream processing. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality assurance, to develop innovative solutions for large-scale fermentation and ensure product consistency. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking advancements in food biotechnology and drive the commercialization of sustainable protein alternatives.

1. Fermentation Process Development: Design, optimize, and scale up fermentation processes, including media formulation, bioreactor operation, and process control.
2. Downstream Processing: Refine methods for harvesting, processing, and enhancing mycoprotein-based products to achieve desired functional and sensory properties.
3. Technology Scale-Up: Support the transition of lab-scale fermentation to pilot-scale and commercial-scale production, ensuring process efficiency and product quality.
4. Data Analysis & Reporting: Monitor and analyze fermentation performance, troubleshoot issues, and prepare detailed technical reports and recommendations.
5. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all bioengineering processes comply with food safety regulations, industry standards, and company protocols.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with multidisciplinary teams, including food scientists, engineers, and business strategists, to align bioengineering efforts with company goals.
7. Innovation & Research: Stay updated on advancements in fermentation technology, strain development, and bioengineering methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
8. Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and calibration of fermentation and analytical equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Bioengineering, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: 2-5 years of hands-on experience in microbial fermentation, bioprocess development, or alternative protein research. Experience in mycoprotein or fungal fermentation is a plus.

Technical Skills:

• Expertise in fermentation techniques, bioreactor operation, and process optimization.
• Knowledge of downstream processing, including filtration, drying, and texturization.
• Experience with statistical analysis and data modeling for process optimization.

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work with multiple projects in a fast-paced startup environment.
