• Develop and implement advocacy strategies to advance science-based approaches to biotech.
• Coordinate and manage projects that support agreed advocacy objectives.

• Represent the organization at relevant meetings, forums, and events.

• Monitor regulatory, policy, and public developments related to Plant Biotechnology.
• Support the development of timely messaging and responses to emerging issues.
• Contribute to discussions on policy development, regulatory updates, and trade-related matters.

• Act as a key coordination and communications link among internal teams and regional/global counterparts.
• Support the effective functioning of biotech-related working groups or committees.
• Develop annual work plans, manage assigned budgets, and prepare technical and activity reports.

University degree in Agriculture, Life Sciences, Public Policy, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Minimum 5 years' experience in agriculture/life science -related advocacy, communications, regulatory affairs, or public/government affairs.
• Government affairs experience (MUST HAVE): Demonstrated experience engaging with government bodies, regulatory agencies, or policy‑making institutions on science‑based policy advocacy.
• Experience working on issues related to access to innovation, technology adoption, or enabling policy environments.
• Basic understanding of agronomy, plant science, and relevant regulatory frameworks.

• Excellence in science communication: Proven ability to translate complex scientific and technical concepts into clear, compelling messages for diverse audiences including policymakers, media, and the public.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• Collaborative, proactive, and diplomatic working style.
• Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate, and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Project management and facilitation or training experience is an advantage.
