We have a fantastic opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join the team at HMP Huntercombe, a Category C prison, exclusively for Foreign National males. We have capacity of around 500, and offer healthcare 7 days per week.

We are based in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. This is a rare opportunity to join our close knit healthcare team within pharmacy, where you will join a unique working environment, where no two days are the same! Hours: This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week. Shifts can be flexible, and we will discuss with you directly. Shift patterns are typically 07:45 - 17:00 Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 16:30 on weekends.

Salary: This position is full-time, you will receive an annual salary of £24,669 - £28,690 per annum, depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

As our new Pharmacy Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

• Issue medication to patients directly from the hatch on the wing, checking ID and ensuring the correct medication is given
• Ensure medication compliance, checking medication held by patients in their cells
• Work alongside the wider healthcare team, liaising with colleagues (including GPs) to ensure patients receive the correct medication
• Contribute to services such as medicine reconciliation, managing stock medicines and transportation of medicines
• Provide support to ensure a safe and secure medicines management service, following policies and procedures

• An NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Dispensing
• Experience within a pharmacy environment - whether in the community, hospital or a prison / secure setting
