The post is for one year at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. We would welcome applications from doctors who have previous experience in any of a wide range of specialties, though relevant experience in critical care/anaesthesia is required in order to function independently as a registrar out of hours.
The role of the fellow will be to support the current perioperative pathways and develop new services and operating procedures. This will include running a pre-assessment clinic, working with staff in pre-assessment to help them develop their skills as well as providing anaesthesia on relevant theatre lists eg colorectal surgery. Whilst on ITU there will be an opportunity to work with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver enhanced recovery to appropriate groups of patients as well as developing pre-operative optimisation pathways.
