This role focuses on the architecture and technical design of our customer-facing web portals. These portals are critical for delivering a seamless online experience and driving customer engagement across our various brands, including Rentokil, Initial, and Ambius.

The Technical Architect will play a key role in defining and delivering the technical strategy for our web portals. This includes:

1. Designing and documenting solutions that are scalable, secure, and performant.
2. Selecting and integrating appropriate technologies to meet business requirements.
3. Providing technical leadership and guidance to development teams.
4. Ensuring adherence to architectural principles and standards.
5. Collaborating with stakeholders across the business to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions.
6. Ensuring colleagues involved in design activities (e.g., Business Analysts, Technical Architects) are following best practice design principles in line with the company architectural strategy.

1. Define and maintain the technical architecture for our web portals.
2. Design and document solutions for new features and enhancements.
3. Evaluate and select appropriate technologies to meet business needs.
4. Provide technical guidance and support to development teams.
5. Ensure adherence to architectural principles and security standards.
6. Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to gather requirements and feedback.
7. Monitor and optimise the performance and scalability of web portals.
8. Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and trends.

1. Proven experience as a Solution/Technical Architect for web applications.
2. Experience with API gateways (Apigee preferred) and serverless technologies.
3. Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and related services.
4. Familiarity with Java and database technologies.
5. Experience with IAM tools (Auth0 preferred) and authentication/authorization protocols.
6. Knowledge of monitoring tools (Datadog preferred) and performance optimization techniques.

1. Strong understanding of web application architecture and design principles.
2. Experience with Agile development methodologies.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
5. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

IT-related or relevant degree.
