Job Description

Salary:

SMMA is seeking a licensed architect with a professional passion and unique set of skills to push designs through construction. In addition to possessing a deep knowledge of constructability and demonstrated perseverance to navigate the complex CA phase, the successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence within project teams as well as serving as a technical resource to others within their firm.

Besides having the opportunity to work on important and complex projects alongside peers who share a healthy balance of confidence and curiosity, you will also be working within the firm's integrated design model a dynamic and innovative mix of architects, interior designers, landscape architects, site and building systems engineers, design technologists, researchers, planners, and doers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to the design intent during the CA phase of primary project
  • Serve as a technical resource across all project teams collaborating with internal building science specialists on best practices
  • Conduct peer quality control review of various projects at major project milestones
  • Assist project teams at times during the DD phase when possible giving insight to identify challenges and opportunities
  • Assist project teams at times during CD phase when possible to research and specify materials, help detail constructible solutions, and advise on the integration of site, structure, and MEP systems

Qualifications:

  • Architectural licensure
  • 10-25 years experience, some dedicated to CA activities
  • LEED and other sustainable accreditations a plus
  • Fluency with a BIM-centered workflow and digital tools for CA
  • Excellence in written, visual, and verbal communication
  • High emotional intelligence
  • Flexible, proactive, and curious
