Our client has engaged ROSS (www.getROSS.com) to find them a Project Manager. The Project Manager is primarily responsible for leading projects through to successful conclusion, on-time and on-budget to the client’s satisfaction. Utilizing industry-leading and project-appropriate iterative methodologies (Rational Unified Process), the Delivery Manager will lead various types of projects such as product development, customer conversions, internal process and/or systems implementations, and strategic corporate initiatives following our client’s project performance standards.

- Definition of project organization and staffing
- Staff and infrastructure sourcing
- Planning of phases and iterations
- Development of iteration plans
- Iteration assessment
- Risk identification and assessment
- Work scheduling and assignment

Major Responsibilities:
Project Planning
- Manages the initiation, planning, execution, and delivery of approved and prioritized initiatives to ensure that the business objectives and stakeholder needs and expectations are met.
- Plans, monitors, and leads projects using industry-recognized project management standards and leads in the implementation and execution of software lifecycle management standards and methodologies.
Project Execution & Delivery
- Performs deliverables-based management, focusing on the delivery of customer value, in the form of executing software that meets (or exceeds) the customer's needs.
- Manages project scope & handles scope change requests using appropriate documentation.
- Manages scope enhancements from clients and gathers estimates from the development team for pricing and preparing change orders.
- Must ensure that all necessary risk assessments and risk assessment processes are carried out at the appropriate time (Architecture, Governance, Security Threat Risk Assessment, and Operational review and compliance).
Project Reporting
- Delivers detailed reporting to all stakeholders on progress, achievement of milestones, detailed and accurate estimates, and project status as required.
- Provides timely updates to the project on assigned responsibilities.
Relationship Management
- Manages team relationships. Provides performance feedback and coaching to project and program team members.
Resource Management
- Coordinates the appropriate use of resources (Architects, BAs, QAs, and Developers).
- Reviews training deliverables and provides direction and feedback to project team and clients.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Possesses a university degree/college diploma and 3 to 5 years experience in the related industry.
- Demonstrated practice of managing projects following the RUP iterative software development process.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is preferred.
- Have successfully managed software development projects in or for financial services organizations (banking, finance, insurance).
- Familiarity with MFDA and IIROC requirements.
- Exhibits a working knowledge of core Enterprise competencies including knowledge of the Enterprise's business environment and products.
- Understanding of end-to-end business processing flows of those areas and associated detailed attributes and key requirements for the processes involved.
- Knowledge of various types of investment products, including mutual funds, fixed income products, securities, and insurance.
- Knowledge of retail back office processes such as order management, clearing and settlement, trade reconciliation, commissioning, trust accounting.
- Knowledge of an Advisor’s business, specifically related to their practice and activities.
- Able to understand EWMS Architecture Topology, Infrastructure stack, and EWMS configuration options.
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services distribution industry, particularly retail business represented by Wealth Management Dealers and Brokers.
This role would be suited for a result-oriented professional with sound problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
