TalentSphere is working with an established mid-sized Revit-based architecture firm specialized in private sector light-industrial (distribution centers and warehouses) and commercial (grocery chains, car dealerships) projects. The firm does projects across Canada with top tier clients including Amazon and Costco; supports ongoing professional development and believes in promoting from within.

Summary of Position:
Our client seeks an experienced Intermediate to Senior Project Architect (7-12 years experience), or Architectural Designer, to oversee the successful execution of architectural projects from conception to completion. You will be involved with schematic design, design development, working and construction drawings; ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards. You will report to a Project Director and Team Lead. You are technically inclined; enjoy larger projects (500k SQFT) involving lots of coordination. This role offers advancement to Project Director and Associate Level roles.

Role Responsibilities:

1. Meet clients to establish the scope of work, timelines, budgets, and workflow requirements to create a detailed design concept from start to finish.
2. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
3. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies, to facilitate project progress and resolve issues that arise.
4. Preparation of architectural drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
5. Conduct regular project meetings, prepare progress reports, and communicate project status updates to key stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
6. Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations throughout the design and construction phases of the project.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or related field.
2. Professional Architectural license (OAA) preferred - or extensive experience designing distribution centers.
3. 6 years of local experience in architectural project management; PMP and LEED accreditation a big plus.
4. A Revit portfolio of warehouse and distribution centers; plus large scale commercial facilities.
5. Experience with SPA, zoning, permits, SD, DD, WDs & CDs, CA duties.
6. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
7. Proficiency in industry related software and tools, such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project.
8. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
9. Knowledge of Ontario building codes; NBC, egress, fire separation, barrier-free design, limiting distances and exit requirements.
