Job summary
A leading engineering firm in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced draftsman with a strong background in mechanical systems and extensive AutoCAD proficiency. The role involves preparing detailed shop and coordination drawings while ensuring compliance with UAE/GCC standards. With a minimum of 8 years of drafting experience, the ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent attention to detail and time management skills. Immediate availability is preferred for this impactful position.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of drafting experience, with at least 5 years in contracting companies within the UAE/GCC.
- Proven experience in preparing coordination drawings for multi-disciplinary projects.
- Familiarity with UAE/GCC construction standards and authority guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and detailed shop drawings for mechanical systems.
- Develop coordination drawings to ensure clash-free installation.
- Review design drawings for compliance and constructability.
- Coordinate with engineers and site teams to meet project requirements.
- Maintain version control of drawings and ensure timely submission.
- Ensure adherence to drafting standards and regulations.
- Modify drawings based on site instructions and RFIs.
- Support site execution teams with technical drawing inputs.

- Prepare accurate and detailed shop drawings for mechanical systems including HVAC plumbing and firefighting.
- Develop coordination drawings integrating architectural structural and MEP services to ensure clash-free installation on site.
- Review design drawings and specifications to ensure compliance and constructability.
- Coordinate with engineers site teams and other draftsmen to meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Maintain version control of drawings and ensure timely submission of updated layouts.
- Ensure all drawings adhere to company drafting standards and UAE/GCC authority regulations.
- Modify and update drawings based on site instructions RFIs and mark-ups from the engineering team.
- Support site execution teams with necessary technical drawing inputs and clarifications.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Engineering or relevant technical field.
- Minimum of 8 years of drafting experience with at least 5 years in contracting companies within the UAE/GCC.
- Strong expertise in AutoCAD and a solid understanding of mechanical systems.
- Proven experience in preparing coordination drawings for multi-disciplinary projects.
- Familiarity with UAE/GCC construction standards and authority guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail time management and communication skills.
- Must be available to join within 2 weeks.
