Job Description PURPOSE & SCOPE:Jobs at this level are engaged in the production of engineering drafting input for offshore projects and the supervision of Draftsmen. Job holders perform their Drafting roles within the discipline-specific areas of projects. The job holders may be required to act as drafting team leader on small projects.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Receives basic drawings from Drafting Team Leader and prepares detailed engineering drawings, shop and fabrication drawings, cut lists, nesting plans, Input for Control sheets, sub-assembly drawings, grating layouts, etc
• Ensures correct seam orientation and prepares rolling package.
• Ensures all works to be performed as per the job specifications, guidelines, company procedures etc as advised by DTL / LDE.
• Reviews and checks the work of draftsmen to ensure accuracy and correctness prior to their formal issue for construction.
• Undertakes pre-engineering site surveys in order to confirm the correctness of handover drawings and suitability of allocated site for project implementation.
• Responsible for detailed material take-offs to ensure accurate account is taken of all component parts required to complete a project.
• Prepares input for BOMs and sketches as required for PRs.
• Prepares data diskettes for the Computer Numerical Control system
Skills Required
• Higher national Certificate, or *equivalent, and an ITI Certificate in Drafting. Engineering 3-year diploma will be preferred.
• 8 years previous Drafting experience with at least 4 years at Level 1 with minimum 2 years offshore structural drafting experience.
• Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
• Experienced and competent Computer Aided Design (CAD) operator (AutoCAD latest release). StruCAD /
• X-Steel / PDS experience will be preferred.
