Senior Structural Draftsman
Job summary
A construction firm in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Draftsman to prepare detailed shop drawings for structural elements such as foundations, beams, and slabs. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering, at least 8 years of drafting experience, and strong skills in AutoCAD. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with construction standards and collaborating with engineering teams. Candidates should be available to join within 2 weeks.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years drafting experience with at least 5 years in the UAE/GCC contracting companies.
- Strong command of AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit Structure or BIM tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with UAE/GCC construction standards and authority requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and detailed shop drawings for structural elements.
- Develop coordination drawings to ensure clash‑free construction.
- Collaborate closely with structural engineers and site teams.

- Prepare accurate and detailed shop drawings for structural elements including foundations, columns, beams, slabs and other concrete and steel components.
- Develop coordination drawings in line with architectural and MEP disciplines to ensure clash‑free construction.
- Interpret structural design drawings and specifications to produce clear and compliant drafting deliverables.
- Revise and update drawings based on site conditions, RFIs and engineering mark‑ups.
- Collaborate closely with structural engineers, site teams and other drafting disciplines to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Ensure all drawings adhere to local authority standards, company protocols and project specifications.
- Maintain up‑to‑date drawing logs and ensure timely submission of required documentation.
- Provide support to site teams during construction with required drawing revisions or clarifications.
- Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering or a relevant technical qualification.
- Minimum 8 years drafting experience with at least 5 years in the UAE/GCC contracting companies.
- Strong command of AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit Structure or BIM tools is a plus.
- Extensive experience in preparing coordination drawings and multi‑disciplinary integration.
- Familiarity with UAE/GCC construction standards and authority requirements.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.
