Job Description: Mechanical Technician - Motors & Compressors (Petrochemicals)

Position Overview: The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of motors and compressors in a petrochemical facility. This role ensures optimal performance and reliability of mechanical systems critical to operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on electric motors and compressors.
2. Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
3. Conduct testing and adjustments to ensure proper functioning of equipment.
4. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to optimize equipment performance.
5. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
6. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing tasks in the facility.
7. Assist in the installation and commissioning of new motors and compressor systems.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanical engineering or a related field preferred.
2. Proven experience as a mechanical technician, particularly with motors and compressors in an industrial setting.
3. Strong understanding of mechanical systems, troubleshooting techniques, and maintenance practices.
4. Proficient in using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance software.
5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and handle heavy equipment and tools.

2. Maintenance and Repairs:

   • Routine Maintenance: Perform regular preventive maintenance on mechanical systems and machinery.
   • Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose mechanical issues and repair or replace defective parts.
   • Lubrication and Adjustments: Ensure that moving parts are properly lubricated and adjust components to prevent wear and tear.

3. Testing and Inspection:

   • System Testing: Test mechanical equipment and systems after installation, repair, or maintenance.
   • Inspect Mechanical Parts: Perform visual and mechanical inspections on parts to detect wear, damage, or faults.

4. Blueprint and Technical Drawing Interpretation:

   • Read Technical Documents: Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
   • Create Reports: Record maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and parts used.
