Operating room technologists oversee pivotal duties from preparation to the conclusion of surgical procedures, making them the backbone of the surgical team. They set up the operating room, sterilize and provide surgical instruments, assist during procedures, and ensure patient safety and comfort. Below is a list of common responsibilities for an operating room technician:
Certification and/or training in operating room technology or its equivalent, along with successful completion of an accredited surgical technologist course. Additionally, proficiency in medical terminology, physiology, and sterilization methods is required. Current license in the country of origin and with DOH license to practice in Abu Dhabi. Minimum 2 years OT experience in the main operating room or a similar setting is preferred. Excellent command of oral and written English. Arabic language advantageous/desirable but not essential.
