Position Title: Senior Specialist Graphic Design

2. JOB PURPOSE / ROLE:
The Senior Specialist Graphic Designer will be responsible for centralizing all design requests, prioritizing them based on the university's strategic goals, and distributing tasks among team members and external design service providers. This role involves overseeing the progress of all creative projects, ensuring they align with brand guidelines before submission for approval.
Key responsibilities include:
- Establishing and maintaining the creative process, including tracking tools, process improvements, and the evolution of design workflows, to ensure high quality and efficiency.
- Developing creative campaigns, artworks, storyboards, brand guidelines, photos, videos, and designs that align with the university's marketing plans and strategy.
- Providing expert guidance on graphic design to support the university's branding and marketing efforts.
The Senior Specialist Graphic Designer will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual identity of the university while maintaining the highest standards of creativity and brand consistency.

4. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creative Development and Design Execution:
- Gather relevant information on projects to prioritize and categorize the project and create a project brief to translate into visual concepts, artworks, and designs.
- Develop creative campaigns, artworks, videos, storyboards, and designs aligned with the university’s strategy and marketing plans.
- Illustrate concepts through rough layouts, specifying arrangement, size, typeface, style, and aesthetic considerations.
- Prepare and finalize layouts, ensuring compliance with production sizes and criteria.
- Collaborate with the marketing and creative teams to execute compelling storyboards and content ideas that align with the university’s vision.
- Obtain approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval.
- Prepare finished copy and art by operating typesetting, printing, and similar equipment; and purchasing from vendors.
- Develop interactive ads and editing clips.
Content Creation and Quality Assurance:
- Generate high-quality, engaging content tailored to diverse audiences while ensuring alignment with brand guidelines.
- Proofread and review marketing and communication materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with brand standards.
Brand Management:
- Act as a brand custodian, ensuring consistent application of brand guidelines across all platforms and safeguarding the brand's reputation.
- Develop and oversee innovative marketing campaigns to enhance brand visibility and engagement.
Workload Management and Process Optimization:
- Organize and find solutions to effectively manage workload distribution across the designer team and external providers.
- Optimize tools and processes to enhance the efficiency and quality of creative outputs.
- Establish and implement structured workflows and methodologies to improve productivity and ensure deadlines are met.
Project Management and Coordination:
- Manage and oversee multiple creative projects, ensuring timely delivery and coordination with team members and external providers.
- Establish and uphold creative processes, including tracking tools, process improvements, and quality assurance measures.
- Produce periodic performance reports to evaluate project outcomes and team effectiveness.

Filming, Editing and Production:
- Operate video cameras, drones, and other filming equipment to capture high-quality video footage, ensuring excellent lighting, sound, and composition.
- Use advanced video editing software to cut, edit, and assemble raw footage into polished videos, adding graphics, effects, and music to enhance the final product.
Photography:
- Capture high-quality images using professional photography techniques and equipment. Apply advanced editing software to enhance photos, adjusting lighting, color, and composition to create visually engaging and impactful images.
- Manage the university’s photo gallery, including organizing and categorizing photos, ensuring proper naming conventions for SEO, and maintaining a system that allows easy retrieval of images.
General Duties:
- Contribute to team efforts by completing tasks commensurate with the role.
- Ensure creative outputs align with the university’s vision and marketing strategy.
This is not a typical 9-5 role; flexibility in working outside business hours/working days is a must for this role.
5. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in graphic design or relevant field.
- Video Shooting and editing experience is a must.
- Previous experience in a senior or supervisory creative role is preferable.
Job-Specific Skills:
- Thorough experience in and knowledge of Adobe creative suite.
- Proficient in design and editing software with extensive experience in InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro.
- High level of creativity and design sense.
- Strong graphic design skills.
- Thorough knowledge of graphic design concepts and tools.
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop and execute impactful campaigns.
