A Sea Freight Operations Manager needs to provide leadership and strategic advice for the sea freight team. Their aim will be to promote growth within their company through realizing current and future business opportunities. Working within freight management, as a sea freight operations manager, will require overseeing all day-to-day operations and monitoring and reporting key performance parameters to ensure the department's KPIs are achieved.

She/he will also need to liaise with customs, port authorities, and shipping lines.

1. Responsible for overall operations - ocean freight is the main product.
2. To be responsible for the operational results and administration of all container services and network connections.
3. Responsible for planning, building the team, and giving proper training and task assignments to team members.
4. To monitor performance & analyze profit margins of RFQ of each service contract.
5. To check profit and loss (PNL) development of ocean products monthly.
6. Responsible for the quantity and quality, good performance in billing and job costing in ocean operations.
7. Responsible for the monthly performance data preparation and review.
8. To be the key contact for carrier negotiation in local contracts.
9. To provide support to products operative regarding market situation and rate level.
10. To participate in meetings with the marketing/sales team for major trade lanes in cooperation with other company subsidiaries in the area/regional.
11. Work together with the sales team for customer relationship management and implementation of new service – customer implementation (non-complex).
12. Work closely with partners overseas to define necessary products to achieve the targets budgeted.
13. Analyze allocation achievement against actual performance with the carriers.
14. Focus on vendor management and assure that all vendors can be kept at good performance as per company requirements.
15. Vendor contract and performance review, work in accordance with compliance rules and policies.
16. Other additional tasks assigned by the management.

1. Minimum 10 years’ relevant international freight forwarding experience - minimum 5 years in a supervisory position.
2. Knowledge of procedures for international and domestic freight, trucking, and warehouse services; Cargo wise experience is an added advantage.
3. Candidate must be based in UAE & ability to fluently communicate in English.
