Platform Specialist - Finance
Department: Finance
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: SA | Central | Johannesburg
Description
The Platform Specialist is Finance Operations’ hands‑on expert for all Finance‑related systems, platforms, and technology integrations that touch the Syspro financial software ecosystem.
This role is responsible for the administration, configuration, optimisation, and ongoing governance of the platforms used by Finance, ensuring they are fully integrated with the Syspro ERP Finance module and all relevant ledgers and subledgers. The Platform Specialist ensures these systems are used to their fullest capability, supporting accurate financial data, efficient transaction processing, robust controls, and high-quality reporting.
A key focus of the role is enabling automation and continuous process improvement by understanding how financial data flows across systems and identifying opportunities to reduce manual effort, improve controls, and increase efficiency. The Platform Specialist actively evaluates, implements, and supports new tools and technologies—including AI‑enabled solutions—to enhance Finance Operations’ effectiveness and scalability.
The role does not require deep software development or coding expertise, although this is considered beneficial. It does require strong system curiosity, a solid functional understanding of system integrations, data flows, automation logic, and how Finance processes are enabled through technology. A strong interest in modern finance technology and enthusiasm for implementing AI‑driven functionality are essential.
