Job Description:

Mission statement: The Sales Manager is responsible for development of profitable and sustainable sales for the Transformer Business Unit for Malaysia. The incumbent is responsible for implementing the sales and marketing strategy, monitoring target markets, and providing market intelligence to the business. This role reports into the Market Manager for Malaysia.

Your responsibilities:

• You will be responsible for sales in the Malaysian market including third-party sales, internal sales, and channels, as well as marketing intelligence processes including detailed market analysis, understanding market drivers, trends, key competition, and emerging technologies, producing monthly and/or ad-hoc reports.
• You will develop product business strategies and sales and marketing plans with the Market Manager and in partnership with factories, ensuring appropriate market coverage, leading the implementation of business strategies & initiatives, acting as the main driver of sales and marketing efforts for the business unit.
• You will manage the business unit portfolio in Malaysia together with the Global Product Marketing Managers, assuring its competitiveness vis-à-vis main local/global competitors, coordinating product marketing launch development plans, and ensuring their timely execution.
• You will support the local responsible person in the accreditation process and training programs, identifying training needs of technical sales skills of the local team and implementing adequate training actions, working together with local Market Manager, territory Sales & Marketing, Global Marketing Unit, and MarCom for planning and implementation of customer events/trade shows as well as overall sales support material (brochures, catalogues, price lists, sales guides, and customer arguments).
• You will participate in the budget process, representing the global business unit interface for the given local market, coordinating and supporting the factories' sales and marketing activities in the country, managing and developing appropriate relationships with customers and key accounts, initiating and driving the capture team process for key pursuits, and managing and coordinating the risk review process.
• You will ensure proposals are developed and approved on time to facilitate negotiations.
• You will track and monitor quotations (projects lists, volume of offers, win-lost analysis, providing feedback of offers to the factories, etc.).
• You will ensure local order handling of products/systems and services in accordance with appropriate local and/or group systems, processes, and controls, ensuring projects/contracts are appropriately managed and payment terms are adhered to in line with agreed contractual conditions, and organizing and promoting appropriate after-sales service and activities for all products.
• You will manage & promote the feedback and collection of customer inputs through internal tools, reporting the outcome of the tender in SalesForce with relevant details timely, and maintaining cost control and EBIT responsibility of the Domestic Sales reporting.

Your background:

• You hold a degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 8 to 10 years of experience in sales & marketing in a similar industry/sector.
• Good managerial & people management skills.
• Structured and organized, with a proven ability to take ownership.
• Self-motivated and dedicated team player with a strong work ethic and customer-focused approach.
• Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Experience in managing a small team of sales team members.
• Able to travel for business when required.
