Legal Counsel (Real Estate Lending) – Founding Role at Mexwave

Location: Remote (Mexico-based preferred)

Compensation: Revenue share on closed loan deals

Commitment: Part-time, flexible hours

About Mexwave

Mexwave is a new real estate lending platform focused on providing short-term bridge loans to developers on Mexico’s Pacific coast — particularly foreign nationals (American/Canadian) developing residential or boutique commercial projects who are underserved by traditional banks.

We’ve assembled a team with experience in fund structuring, marketing, and real estate development — and we’re now looking for an entrepreneurial legal partner to join us as we launch our pilot SPV and first set of deals.

What We’re Looking For

1. Structure and formalize secured loan agreements (contrato de mutuo con interés y garantía hipotecaria) and/or buy option agreements.
2. Advise on legal lien setup (hipotecas) and ensure proper collateralization.
3. Guide entity structuring (S. de R.L. de C.V. or SAPI) for lending operations.
4. Navigate relevant real estate, lending, and foreign investment regulations.
5. Be available for periodic deal reviews and legal input (especially at origination phase).

Ideal Background

1. Licensed lawyer in Mexico (or strong paralegal background with real estate focus).
2. Experience working with developers, notaries, and public registries.
3. Familiarity with bridge financing, property-backed lending, and risk mitigation.
4. Comfortable working with a remote team and flexible communication.
5. Entrepreneurial mindset — excited by early-stage projects and future upside.

Compensation

This is a founding opportunity with revenue sharing opportunities and potential future equity.
