GENERAL SUMMARY
The position of Mechanic is responsible for repairing roofing and pavement patching equipment and performing all showroom helper duties in a skillful manner within the standards required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three years related experience and/or training. Experience includes small engine repair, pneumatics, power tool repair and a basic understanding in electrical, heat generating and electronic equipment. Welding experience required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and/or other employees of the organization. Spanish speaking not required but is a plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS/CERTIFICATIONS
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must be able to obtain or possess a valid motor vehicle driver's license.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Position is required to work in the showroom area in addition to repairing equipment. Position may be required to visit customer sites. Must be able to operate a forklift and have mechanical ability. Must have own tools to use at work.
A background and drug screening will be conducted for employment purposes.
