Job Title: Design and Technical Manager

We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Technical/Design Manager to join our client, an esteemed family-owned company, which has been thriving since its inception in 2014. Based out of the Norwich office, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our growth within the Facade, Roofing, and general building sectors.

As a Design and Technical Manager, you will lead projects through all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring that we deliver our signature friendly and professional service. This is more than just a management position; it's a chance to be a vital part of our senior management team, helping to shape the future of our fast-expanding construction business.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Overseeing the entire design process, from concept to final delivery.
2. Addressing any issues or challenges that arise during the design process.
3. Guiding and mentoring design team members, fostering a collaborative and creative environment.
4. Prepare detailed construction drawings in line with program specifications and budget requirements using AutoCAD.
5. Ensuring that all design outputs meet the highest quality standards and align with the company’s brand and goals.
6. Work alongside the Planning/Building Control Departments throughout the process, ensuring the provision of accurate technical information for applications.
7. Managing resources and timelines to ensure efficient project execution.
8. Oversee the resolution of technical design and construction issues, controlling design variations and requests for further information throughout the project lifecycle.
9. Liaise with clients and key stakeholders regarding relevant technical matters.
10. Ensure the accurate and complete handover of technical information at project completion or designated phases.
11. Promote a safe working environment by adhering to the Company Health & Safety Policy, safeguarding yourself, colleagues, third parties, and the public.

Desired Qualifications:

1. HNC/HND or an equivalent qualification.
2. Honours degree in a relevant field.
3. Proficiency in CAD/Revit.

Key Competencies:

1. Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
2. Experience in the design of roofing, facades, and general construction.
3. Strong understanding of design and engineering principles in construction.
4. In-depth technical and building construction knowledge.
5. Familiarity with Building Regulations.
6. Knowledge of Health & Safety and CDM Regulations.
