The Finance Officer will combine day-to-day transactional duties with support for budget monitoring and financial reporting. This Finance Officer will manage invoices and purchase orders reconcile the bank and produce regular finance summaries for the School Business Manager and leadership team. The Richmond school expects the Finance Officer to help prepare for audits support payroll administration and offer practical improvements to systems and processes. The role begins January 2026 with a planned induction and handover prior to January 2026.
- Process purchase invoices prepare payment runs and maintain accurate purchase ledger records.
- Reconcile bank accounts credit card statements and petty cash; log income and oversee lettings invoices.
- Support monthly budget monitoring by producing clear management information and variance analysis.
- Assist with payroll-related admin and pension documentation liaising with payroll providers where needed.
- Prepare documents for audits help manage grant claims and ensure financial procedures are followed.
- Experience in a transactional finance role ideally within education or public sector settings.
- Strong attention to detail accuracy in reconciliations and competency with accounting software.
- Effective organisational skills ability to meet deadlines and to prioritise routine and ad-hoc tasks.
- Good communicator who works well with non-finance colleagues and external suppliers across Richmond.
