Morson Talent are delighted to present an opportunity for an experienced Communications Lead to join our client’s established team for work associated with a major energy infrastructure Project in SW England.

Based: Aztec West, Bristol. Can be offered on a full or part-time basis. Hybrid working. Contract role INSIDE IR35.

The Communications Lead for the Technical Directorate will be instrumental in shaping and executing a comprehensive Communications Strategy that enhances awareness and fosters greater collaboration across the Project. In addition to crafting the overarching strategy, you will play an active part in authoring and delivering communications and set the directorate up for success for long-term implementation.

1. Strategic development: Design and implement a communications strategy that aligns with the directorate’s objectives, ensuring consistent and effective messaging across functions and interfacing organisations.
2. Content creation: Author and oversee the production of high-quality verbal, written and digital communications, adapting to suit audience requirements and seeking appropriate level of sign off.
3. Stakeholder engagement: Collaborate with senior management, technical staff and external teams to build awareness of initiatives and ensure clear and timely dissemination of information.
4. Promote our successes: Be a spokesperson for the directorate, promoting the programme through appropriate platforms.
5. Maintain and elevate our digital space: Oversee the directorate’s digital platforms, ensuring the content is current, engaging and reflective of ongoing projects and team capabilities.
6. Monitor and adapt: Track the implementation of the strategy and establish feedback loops to ensure communication activities are effective.
7. Leverage channels: Work closely with internal and external communications teams to establish and maintain effective communication channels.
8. Lead by example: Set the standards for effective communications, coaching functions on “what good looks like” and share relevant tools and good practices to support long-term implementation.

2. Ability to understand and segment different stakeholders and audiences and match to appropriate channels of communication.
3. Ability to translate complex topics and strategies into clear, engaging, and accessible communications tailored to diverse audiences.
4. Ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels of the organisation.
5. Influential individual with the ability to obtain buy-in to proposals that meet business objectives.
6. Ability to respond to quickly changing circumstances and high levels of demand, providing timely, high-quality communications support as needed.
7. Adaptable to new ideas, wishes to continuously learn and seek OPEX.
8. Ability to navigate varying business needs, prioritise workload and coordinate support from others.
9. Strongly dependable, with the ability to work effectively on own initiative as well as collaboratively with others.
10. Ability to operate a wider range of concurrent activities and respond flexibly to changing demands.
