We are currently looking for an accountant trainee to join the Finance Department at Madrid Head Office, to support the accounting department for the Mediterranean Region, mainly Spain and Portugal.

The candidate will take part in the Finance Team, specifically with accounting, and will collaborate with all stakeholders within the company (Stores, Head Office, and Headquarters in Paris) in a dynamic environment.

The candidate will be directly reporting to the Accounting Manager and will exercise the following duties:

• Archive sales documentation received from the stores (Spain and Portugal). Review that the information included is in line with Internal Control requirements.
• Sales documentation follow-up.
• Management of the generic email address for the Mediterranean, where Spain and Portugal receive invoices from suppliers (invoice reception, communication with PO creators in terms of invoice validation or workflow approval).
• Booking of invoices and other payables if any.
• Bank transfer confirmation to the different stores daily.
• Supplier creation of ES10 and PT10 in SAP in collaboration with the departments. Keep a clean database.
• Daily communication to El Corte Ingles stores providing the information needed for cash reconciliation.
• Assist with month-end close, monthly reports (Banco de España), monthly bookings.
• Assistance with month-end reporting with the different packages to report sales, treasury, and balance sheet.
• Participation in the preparation of external audits.
• Any administrative tasks related to the accounting department.

REQUIREMENTS:

Degree in accounting or business administration (last year).
Good computer skills, mainly Excel.
Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task.
Problem-solving skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Fluency in English/Spanish.
SAP knowledge would be a plus.
Must have finished University/Master's Degree in the past 3 years.

Eligible to sign a "contrato de prácticas" for 6 months (renewable up to 1 year).

Only valid to do a "contrato de prácticas" if previous professional experiences are internships (no permanent contracts allowed).
