At Boomerang, we are looking for an IP Manager to provide intellectual property support to our client, a pharmaceutical company managing new product launches and IP-related matters. The role involves reviewing the regulatory and patent landscape, identifying IP opportunities and risks, conducting IP due diligence for in-licensed products, supporting litigation strategies, preparing and reviewing oppositions, monitoring competitors’ activities, and maintaining the internal patent database and trackers.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
- Provide IP support to the company with new product launches and IP queries.
- Review regulatory and patent landscape of products and identify opportunities.
- Conduct the IP review of new product launches (NPL) to ensure freedom-to-operate.
- Conduct IP due diligence evaluations of in-licensed products.
- Provide support in building and implementing IP strategies. Liaise with external counsels and lawyers in litigation strategies.
- Draft and file oppositions. Liaise with external attorneys for oppositions managed by them.
- Prosecute the client's European patent applications at the European Patent Office (EPO).
- Monitor competitors’ launches, dossier registrations, and IP strategies.
- Support the maintenance of the internal patent database and trackers.
- Perform basic IP training for new employees and product-specific IP sessions to NPL and Portfolio teams.

Relevant Functional / Technical Skills or Industry Experience:
- Experience in a similar position in a pharmaceutical company.
- In-depth knowledge of European Patent Law; partially or fully Qualified European Patent Attorney.
- Knowledge of EU regulation on medicinal products.
- Advanced analytical and communication skills.
- Demonstrable business and commercial awareness.
- Experience of working independently and as part of a team.
Relevant Professional / Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, or related field.
- In-depth knowledge of European Patent Law; partially or fully Qualified European Patent Attorney.
