As the central IT facility of RWTH Aachen University, the IT Center has stood for quality in a wide range of areas for over 60 years. The IT Center supports the teaching and research tasks and central processes of the university and provides basic services and individual services for the university facilities.

Your profile
In the area of process support and digitization of studies and teaching, we are looking for reinforcement for the further development of the RWTHapp and other web applications in the area of studies and teaching.
You have successfully completed vocational training as a mathematical-technical software developer with a bachelor's degree or a bachelor's degree in computer science or a comparable degree in a thematically related field.
Your Personal Qualities Include:
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new technologies

- Good command of written and spoken German
Ideally, you already have knowledge and experience in one or more of the following subject areas:- C# and the .NET (Core) Framework or comparable technologies
- Web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript/TypeScript
- Development of microservices and RESTful APIs
- Container technologies such as Docker or similar solutions
Your tasks:The IT Center's Process Support and Digitalization of Studies & Teaching department develops the RWTHapp, an innovative application that is specially tailored to the needs of RWTH Aachen University students. The app offers a variety of functions to simplify everyday university life. These include personalized timetables, room plans and the latest news from the university's central systems and facilities. In this way, the RWTHapp gives its users effortless access to important information and services.
As a member of the agile team, you will develop and maintain the entire RWTHapp software stack. Your tasks include backend development, the implementation of web services and the design of the frontend. You will work closely with the other team members to develop innovative solutions that make everyday university life easier for all RWTHapp users through customized digital functions.
What we offer:The employment is on a permanent basis. The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and is limited to 3 years. The fixed term is based on:
- 14 para. 1 of the Part-Time and Fixed-Term Employment Act (TzBfG). This is a full-time position. The classification is based on the TV-L. The position is graded up to EG 11, depending on personal requirements.
