Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Superintendent - Water Treatment to join our team! In this role you will get to oversee water treatment operations of the Faro Mine site.

This is a rotational position working at the Faro Mine Site in Faro, YT.

What You'll Be Doing:

1. Operation of water treatment facilities while adhering to the direct discharge protocols at the three plants as well as the various satellite pumping systems.
2. Manage Water Treatment operations manpower.
3. Assist forecasting the required labour level of effort on a monthly basis.
4. Manage support equipment including pumps and piping for conveyance systems from pits and ponds to the water treatment plants.
5. Complete timely and accurate daily records of plant and pumping performance.
6. Conduct daily site inspection and record observations.
7. Manage the inventory of the consumables required for water treatment processes (lime, acid, floc, etc).
8. Notify Management of any issues relating to the water treatment process, pumps and pipelines.
9. Maintain compliance with site EHS requirements, promptly report any incidents, complete all required training neat and clean.
10. Ensuring that the necessary resources are identified, made available and brought to bear in a timely manner.
11. Managing within the project budget to ensure maximum value to our client for expenditures.
12. Monitoring project and Team member performance in a unionized environment.
13. Ensuring that the Construction Management Team receives all the information and support it needs to provide any necessary direction to the various sub-contractors.
14. Assisting our client and the Faro Mine Remediation Team to fulfill their responsibilities with respect to the Project.
15. To support the Maintenance Team with planned maintenance activities on water treatment facilities.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

1. Wastewater/Industrial Treatment Operator Level III Minimum certification or equivalent.
2. 10 Years minimum of industrial or mine water treatment experience. Demonstrated management experience of pumping/conveyance and lime treatment operations for large scale contaminated water management programs.
3. Demonstrated experience managing and coordinating crews more than 25 including operators, and administrative staff.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

1. Knowledge of Canadian OHS Code, Territorial and Municipal Building codes.
2. Ability to lift 20 kg.
3. Valid class 5 driver’s license.
4. Computer Skills - Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
5. Proven understanding of safe work practices and mitigating risk.
