The VisitLethbridge.com Arena is hiring a permanent, full-time Events Coordinator.
WAGE: $45.42/hr.
HOURS: Monday to Friday with some evenings and weekends depending on events – 37.5 hrs/week
The Events Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising the Guest Services staff to ensure exceptional customer service is delivered to all patrons. This role oversees staff and contractual services scheduling, contract management and plays a key role in organizing and supervising events. You will work closely with event organizers, promoters, and internal departments to develop comprehensive event packages to assist with executing events. Additionally, you work closely with the Lethbridge Hurricanes to establish the team’s annual game schedule, training camp, and practice times. The Event Coordinator actively maintains and updates the venue’s master calendar, manages event bookings and ice rentals through the Intelli software program, while handling invoicing for equipment rentals and fostering strong relationships with clients.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, plus up to two years of post-secondary education in event planning, business administration, or a related field. They must have strong customer service experience, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with both staff and clients. A proven track record of supervising and training staff is essential, along with conflict resolution skills to effectively de-escalate situations and handle sensitive conversations. The role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Experience in event coordination, event calendar management, and problem-solving in real-time is crucial. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs for document creation and layout is required. Additional courses in safety, security, event planning, or marketing would be considered a strong asset.
