As a Manager, Systems Epic Accounting, a typical day might include:

• Performing annual staff Performance Development Plan reviews, and making recommendations when required.
• Approving, monitoring, and tracking department vacation, sick days, and remote workdays for direct reports, providing quarterly summaries to the VP, Business Systems, and approving any staff expenses, including continuing education courses for direct reports.
• Providing a work environment that is supportive of the productivity & morale of all staff.
• Conducting process and needs assessments, initiating and implementing initiatives for continuous improvement.
• Working with the Director of Finance and Controller of Finance to facilitate new/improved Epic workflows, policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Coordinating and launching new Epic Accounting initiatives, and acting as Epic Accounting subject matter expert for inter-department initiatives as required.
• Managing Epic Training and Onboarding processes for new and acquired Accounting hires.
• Managing Epic access for Accounting & Finance employees, including Employee configuration, Security groups, Visibility groups, etc.
• Managing all Epic Structure configuration and associated Spreadsheets, Epic Company and Broker configuration, including Commission Agreements and Payable Contracts, Employee Commission Agreement configuration and Epic Invoice and Statement layouts.
• Managing setting up and configuration for all accounting and payment software Epic integrations.
• Consulting in all other areas of Epic requiring Accounting Epic expertise, including GL configuration, expense management, payables management, and non-client receivables management.

• Undergraduate University Diploma or Degree, preferably in technology or business, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5-10 years experience as a staff accountant or bookkeeper with full cycle knowledge.
• Minimum 2-3 years' experience in the accounting department at an Epic insurance agency.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Accounting certification such as Chartered Professional Accountant, or working towards, is an asset.
