Position Overview:

A Forklift Operator & EWP Cutter’s main objective is to cut engineered wood products and operate a forklift safely while loading or unloading orders. This position will work at the Engineered Wood Division located at 25284 Fraser Hwy, Aldergrove, BC.

Principal Responsibilities:

1. Operating a forklift to inspect, tally & put credits away, sort timber, and check loads.
2. Safely cutting engineered wood products with a chainsaw with minimal waste.
3. Building orders for either a roll-off drop, forklift unload, or HIAB unload at job sites.
4. Build loads with accuracy of all lumber grades.
5. Assemble and band loads together to ensure safe handling by other workers.
6. Adhere to safe workplace policies and procedures, along with safety standards.
7. Responsible for meeting productivity requirements in a safe and efficient manner.
8. Stock bins with designated lumber products.
9. Other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Principles, theories, and practices of forklift operation. - required.
2. Current forklift certification for the worksite – an asset.
3. Ability to operate a chainsaw in a safe manner.
4. Communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely, both written and verbal.
5. Run, maneuver, navigate, and operate forklift within confines of worksite.
6. Basic math skills and attention to detail a must.
7. Must have a positive attitude and able to handle difficult situations professionally.

Working Conditions:

1. Ability to work in all weather conditions outside (dusty, hot, cold, wet, etc.).
2. Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm and Saturdays as required.
3. Must be able to work overtime as required by management.
