The Role:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Bartender Supervisor to lead our bar team. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for hospitality, a strong knowledge of wines, beers, and cocktails, and the ability to connect with guests while maintaining a positive, high-energy environment. As a leader, you will guide and supervise our bartenders to ensure excellent service, manage the bar operations, and contribute to the overall success of the restaurant.
In this role, you will also be responsible for the execution of banquet bar events, including overseeing bar setup, managing inventory and ordering for events, and working the bar during special events. As the closing manager, you will take charge of closing duties, ensuring the bar is secure and ready for the next service.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and supervise the bar team to deliver exceptional guest service, ensuring each guest has a memorable experience.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the bar, including opening and closing duties, inventory management, and ordering supplies.
- Manage inventory levels by monitoring stock, conducting regular stock counts, and placing orders to ensure the bar is well-stocked for peak service times.
- Oversee and execute banquet bar events, including handling inventory for events, ordering supplies, and managing bar setup.
- Work the actual bar for events, ensuring high-quality service and smooth operations during banquets, private parties, and special events.
- Maintain inventory control procedures to minimize waste and ensure proper stock rotation, keeping costs within budget.
- Assist guests with menu recommendations, wine pairings, and cocktail suggestions in a knowledgeable and engaging manner.
- Ensure all bar staff adhere to company policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Train and mentor new bartenders, ensuring they understand our service expectations and standards.
- Handle cash and credit transactions, including bill settlement, managing voids, discounts, and adjustments.
- Supervise the bar team during peak hours, ensuring smooth operations and efficient service even in high-volume situations.
- As closing manager, take responsibility for securing the restaurant at the end of the night, including cash reconciliation, locking up, and ensuring inventory is properly stored and accounted for.
- Perform other closing duties such as cleaning and organizing the bar, preparing it for the next service day, and ensuring that all safety protocols are followed.
- Work with the restaurant management team to create promotions and marketing initiatives to drive sales and enhance the guest experience.
- Address internal issues or guest concerns with professionalism, tact, and a focus on effective resolution.
- Perform other duties as needed to support the restaurant's operations.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- 3+ years of experience in bartending and serving, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role in a high-volume restaurant or similar.
- Strong leadership qualities with a genuine passion for mentoring and developing team members.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
- Strong knowledge of wines, cocktails, and beverage programs in a fine-dining or upscale casual setting.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and solve problems efficiently during peak hours and events.
- Friendly, outgoing, and positive attitude, with a passion for creating memorable experiences for guests.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
- Flexibility with availability, particularly for PM shifts, weekends, and closing shifts.
- Required: Serving It Right Certification.
