Job description

Our client has immediate opportunities for Maintenance Supervisor to join their team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible to ensure maintenance resources effectively execute all planned and unplanned work.
  2. Authorize purchase of materials/resources to support maintenance.
  3. Monitor MRO inventory levels and take appropriate actions to address overstock conditions or obsolescence risk.
  4. Create value added preventive maintenance work content and ensure skilled trades are optimized.
  5. Identify operator maintenance activity for Autonomous maintenance checklists.
  6. Complete PMs within defined time frames and according to schedule.
  7. Ensure maintenance technicians provide feedback to completed work plans to schedule additional follow up work as required.
  8. Participate in development of department objectives.
  9. Participate in the daily production meeting and provide equipment downtime updates as appropriate.
  10. Provide off hours support to the production department.
  11. Ensure resources are available to execute activities during major shutdown periods.
  12. Assist the maintenance department personnel in troubleshooting activities to minimize downtime impact.
  13. Generate labor schedule to ensure proper resources are available to support production department goals.

Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of PLC programming and troubleshooting ladder logic.
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in a supervisory role in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive experience with stamping presses, welding and assembly equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, toolroom equipment and PLC controls.
  • Minimum licensed trade qualification, or strong Engineering background.
  • Basic knowledge of Lean Principles and Concepts is an asset.
  • Demonstrated mechanical/electrical aptitude.
  • Strong sense of urgency/ability to prioritize. Must be able to pass Intermediate computer skills test including MS Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email).
