Job Title: Cost and Management Accountant

Position Overview:

We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Cost and Management Accountant with 4-5 years of experience in product-level financial analysis, cost management, and profitability evaluation. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing insights into product-wise profitability by accurately calculating product costs, including landing costs, and analyzing variances in both direct and indirect costs. This role requires a strong understanding of cost structures, meticulous data analysis, and the ability to translate findings into actionable recommendations for business improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Analyze product-wise sales data to evaluate profitability and profit margins across the product portfolio.
2. Conduct in-depth analysis of gross margins, identifying underperforming products and recommending strategies for improvement.
3. Collaborate with the sales and pricing teams to align pricing strategies with profitability objectives.
4. Accurately calculate product landing costs by factoring in procurement, shipping, customs duties, and other related costs.
5. Develop and maintain a framework for tracking and updating landing costs for all SKUs.
6. Identify cost-saving opportunities in the supply chain and recommend changes to enhance cost efficiency.
7. Analyze indirect costs and overheads to determine their impact on overall product profitability.
8. Collaborate with operational teams to address cost discrepancies and identify corrective actions.
9. Prepare detailed dashboards highlighting product profitability, cost structures, and key performance metrics.
10. Present findings and insights to senior management, providing actionable recommendations for strategic decision-making.
11. Work closely with procurement, sales, and operations teams to ensure data integrity and consistency in cost calculations.
12. Proactively identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices in financial analysis.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree or certifications like CFA/CPA/CMA is a plus).
2. 4-5 years in financial analysis, cost management, or a related role, preferably in a trading, retail, or manufacturing environment.
3. In-depth knowledge of cost accounting, landing cost calculations, and profitability analysis.
4. Proficient in advanced MS Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas; experience with Power BI.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working effectively across departments.
7. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
